All-On-4® is an excellent solution for patients who have lost all of their upper or lower teeth and need a full set of permanent teeth.

Dr. Burlingame and Dr. Suarez of Riverside Oral Surgery

Using a minimal number of dental implants, Dr. Burlingame and Dr. Suarez can provide you with a set of strong and reliable permanent teeth. An implant is like a titanium tooth root that is surgically placed into the jawbone, replacing the natural root of a missing tooth.

All-on-4® is a tested and proven approach that replaces your teeth following tooth loss. The technique involves the placement of four dental implants in precise locations of your jaw to support a set of new, permanent teeth. Your ability to chew and your appearance will be fully restored.

A denture securely fastened to dental implants will not slip or feel loose. You will no longer need adhesives or have any discomfort caused by denture movement. Your teeth will look natural, and robust stability can improve your ability to chew.

What's the difference between All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X?

They all describe the same approach: a full arch of fixed teeth supported by dental implants. The number is simply how many implants support the arch. All-on-4® is Nobel Biocare's well-known four-implant treatment concept, while some patients are better served by five, six, or more. All-on-X is the umbrella term, because the right number depends on your bone, your bite, and your goals.

We place premium Nobel Biocare and Straumann implant systems, and your surgeon will recommend the configuration that fits your anatomy, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Life After Full-Arch Implants

Imagine…

  • The freedom to smile.
  • Teeth that look and function like natural teeth.
  • Teeth that won’t slip or come out the way a removable denture can.
  • Having the liberty to eat anything you like. No more soft food.
  • No more gooey denture adhesives.

Who is it for?

A graftless solution for limited bone

This prosthesis is used in special situations for patients who have enough bone in the anterior regions of the lower or upper jaws, but a limited amount of bone in the posterior regions, and are not candidates for extensive bone grafting.

By tilting the two posterior implants up to 45°, we work with the bone you already have, avoiding grafting for most patients and shortening total treatment time.

Am I a Candidate?

The Process

How All-on-X is done

During your initial consultation, your health status and jawbone vitality will be evaluated to decide your eligibility for the revolutionary All-On-4® procedure.

Your oral exam will include a 3D CT scan of your jaw that will be used to generate three-dimensional images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone. The highly accurate 3D radiographic images will support your diagnosis, planning, and treatment.

If your eligibility is confirmed, a custom treatment plan and sequence will be formulated. The fee will be determined and the financial information will be reviewed.

Your comfort is a priority, and we provide sedation for a comfortable, anxiety-free procedure. During surgery, you are fully sedated.

Any failing teeth that remain will be extracted, and then you will be prepared for implants to be placed: two straight implants in the front and two implants tilted up to 45° in the back of your jaw.

At the close of the procedure, patients meeting criteria for immediate loading of the implants will receive a fixed provisional prosthesis (temporary teeth secured to your implants). In other words, if you meet the requirements, you will leave with teeth.

After a few days, you return for your final prosthesis. The typical All-On-4® final restoration is a full arch of acrylic teeth built on a titanium framework, fixed to your implants.

Imagine your excitement:

  • Strolling out of our office with the smile of your dreams.
  • Not having to turn away from photos.
  • Feeling truly confident holding a conversation.
  • Meeting someone new without anxiety about your teeth.
  • Relief from the constant gooey denture adhesive mess.

Why patients choose this approach

The All-On-4® treatment concept is a cost-efficient, graftless solution that provides patients with a fixed full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery.

  • Full-arch rehabilitation with only four implants: two straight anterior implants and two implants tilted up to 45° in the posterior
  • Immediate function: a fixed provisional prosthesis for patients meeting criteria for immediate loading of implants
  • Graftless procedure: bone grafting is avoided by tilting the posterior implants, utilizing available bone

Cost & Coverage

Cost & insurance questions

The cost of All-On-4® treatment varies depending on your individual needs, the complexity of your case, and the materials used. There are options available at different price points to suit a range of budgets.

Financing is available, and many patients spread payments over time with affordable monthly plans.

Let's split the All-On-4® treatment into several stages and address the coverage for each. Insurance generally will not cover the whole procedure but may include a portion of each step.

Dental insurance policies commonly separate treatments into categories considered Basic or Major. Many policies identify tooth extraction as a Basic procedure, so if extractions are needed preceding implant placement, 60% to 80% may be covered under the plan.

Implant placement and prosthetic fabrication are deemed Major dental procedures. If your insurance covers Major procedures, they could pay as much as 50%; however, most insurance won't cover the cost.

We can work with your insurance company to figure out what portion of the All-on-4® you will have to pay.

No. Implants and all types of implant-supported prostheses are an elective classification of treatment that is not covered. We do not accept Medicaid or Medi-Cal.
