“He listened to my concerns. He was kind, patient and understanding, very thorough. I felt comfortable, not scared.”

New Patients
During your consultation, Dr. Shaun Burlingame or Dr. Francisco Suarez will take time to understand your concerns, evaluate your needs, explain your diagnosis, review your treatment options, and discuss estimated costs before any procedure is scheduled.

Step By Step
If you have already completed your forms at home, check-in is quick and easy. If your dentist has sent a referral, our front office team will have it ready before you arrive.
We will review your health history and complete a baseline evaluation. If imaging is needed, our in-house CBCT scanner captures a detailed 3D view of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding structures.
We will walk you through your diagnosis, treatment options, and anesthesia choices based on your health history and comfort level, with time to ask questions before moving forward.
Before you leave, we will go over treatment plans, discuss estimated costs, and what next steps look like. Some straightforward procedures may be scheduled quickly, while more complex treatment may require multiple visits.
Be Prepared
About referrals and x-rays: Some patients arrive with a referral slip or recent images from their dentist, and some do not. Your dental office can send records ahead of your visit, and if we need more detail, we can take our own imaging right here in the office. Either way, we will help keep your visit moving smoothly.
Please let our office know about any medical conditions or medications that may affect surgery. This includes conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves or joints, or a history of rheumatic fever, as well as medications such as heart medicine, aspirin, or blood thinners.
Your registration packet covers your health history, patient information, and our financial and privacy policies. Download it from the Patient Forms page and fill it out at the convenience of your own home.

Comfort & Sedation
Feeling nervous before oral surgery is completely normal. Please let us know when you schedule or during your consultation, and we’ll talk through the comfort and anesthesia options that may be appropriate for your procedure, health history, and needs. We offer nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, or general anesthesia, provided in our office by doctors certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS.
Learn more about our office and our river setting on the About page, and put faces to names on Meet the Team, so your first hello feels like your second.

These rules apply to the surgery visit itself, not your consultation. If you are hoping for same-day treatment, ask our scheduling team how to prepare when you book. Full pre-op and post-op details live on our Surgical Instructions page.
Payment Options
You’ll have a clear cost estimate before treatment, and our team will help you make the most of the insurance benefits available to you. More detail is on our Insurance & Financing page.
